PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: August 2026

At One Heart Project, showing up for people is the whole point. That includes showing up with honesty about how we handle your information. This page tells you plainly what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it — no fine print games, no legal maze.

If you ever have a question this page doesn't answer, just ask us. Contact info is at the bottom.

What We Collect

When you visit our site, donate, sign up for updates, or reach out to us, we may collect:

  • Contact information you give us directly — name, email, phone number, mailing address

  • Donation and payment information processed securely through our payment processor — we don't store your card details ourselves

  • Basic site activity — pages visited, browser type, and general location, collected automatically to help us understand how people use the site

  • Anything you share through a form — volunteer applications, mentorship interest forms, contact messages, or event registrations

We only ask for what we actually need to do the work in front of us.

Why We Collect It

We use your information to:

  • Process and acknowledge donations

  • Respond to messages and questions

  • Send updates about our programs, impact, and ways to get involved (only if you've opted in)

  • Coordinate volunteer, mentor, and event participation

  • Understand our reach so we can serve more people well

We don't collect information to build a profile on you. We collect it because someone showing up — as a donor, a volunteer, a mentor — deserves a response and a relationship, not radio silence.

A Special Word on the Young People We Serve

Part of our mission means working directly with youth and families navigating the justice system. We treat information related to program participants with the highest level of care and confidentiality. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website, and any information shared with us about program participants is handled according to applicable program confidentiality and legal requirements — not just marketing best practices.

If you have questions about how program-related information is handled, please reach out directly rather than relying solely on this page.

Who We Share Information With

We don't sell your information. Full stop.

We do work with a small number of trusted partners to keep things running — like our payment processor, email platform, and website host. They only receive what's necessary to do their specific job, and they're not permitted to use your information for anything else.

We'll only share information beyond that if required by law, or to protect the safety of the people we serve.

Cookies

Our site uses basic cookies and analytics tools (like Google Analytics) to understand how people find and use the site. This helps us make it easier to navigate and more useful to visitors. You can adjust your browser settings at any time to limit or block cookies.

Keeping Your Information Secure

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, including secure hosting and limiting who on our team has access to sensitive data. No system is perfectly bulletproof, but we treat your trust like it matters — because it does.

Your Choices

You're in control. You can:

  • Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any message we send

  • Ask us what information we have on file for you

  • Request that we correct or delete your information

  • Reach out with any concerns about how your data is handled

Links to Other Sites

Our site may link out to other places — donation platforms, social media, partner organizations. Once you leave our site, their privacy practices apply, not ours. We encourage you to check their policies too.

Changes to This Policy

As our programs grow, this policy may be updated to reflect that. We'll post the most current version here with the date at the top.
